The Daly {8}...and then some!

So, camping at Greens Peak was so awesome. The weather was perfect. We didn't have any rain. It was cool to cold at night. Kevin went up the day before and got us a good spot. He tried to get in where the family usually goes but he got stuck. After he got out he went down to a spot near Carnero Lake. We were not right on the lake (too many mosquitoes) but we could see the lake through the trees. There was a spring nearby and lots of trees. And especially lots of sticks for the little ones to play with.

Shannon and Donald came and brought hammocks. Isaiah had hours of fun in this one.




We brought the Weirs Cornhole set and played under the trees. We could do that for hours.



We took a long walk/hike trying to find Iris Spring, which we never found. It was fun but a little too much walking for Isaiah. He hitched a ride on Uncle Kevin's backpack.



Brigger had the best seat in the house on his daddy's back. "Giddy up Daddy"



The last part of the hike was along the shore of the lake. That was after we walked right through the herd of cows that were grazing in the meadow.



After the hike, Honey just needed some down time. "Somebody please turn off those lights!"



Kabrie didn't go on the hike but she needed some down time too. With Aunt Shannon in the other hammock. That's what I'm talkin' about.



On the chilly mornings, the hot chocolate was the best.



"I didn't so it, He did." "No, she did it, I promise."



This is the life.



"Come down here and see this. The best things are close to the ground.



We got to watch the cows come past camp twice every day. Zayah wanted to touch them so badly. There was a bull and a baby bull. And lots of cows with babies. Zayah remembered from last year when I chased one and he wanted to chase the cows. like we did last year. Not a good idea Zayah.



Some of us drove to the top of Greens Peak and climbed the lookout tower. The really nice lady up there asked us to put our names in the book. Isaiah was so proud that his name is in the book. What a view from up there. It is a must do if you are ever at Greens Peak and haven't done it.

We found these shelters made by boy scouts. They were pretty cool. Isaiah looked so cute in them with his appropriate haircut.



We dared Kevin to see if he could actually get in it and lay down. Well he did, coming out without knocking it all over was not quite so easy, but he did it.



This was our favorite. Isaiah said it looks like the Three Little Pigs house. I do to.



This is the spring that Aunt Susan and Kevin helped to tap several years ago. It is the best water. And Cold. We filled lots of jugs and brought it home.




Early morning, Just me and Halia. Toasty while I make the fire.



We had a great time. We drove in to Sunrise to see the fireworks on the 4th of July. We thought we would be avoiding the crowds. NOT! But it was a good show. We would so do the whole thing again. We need more of you to join us next time. Lets do it.
