Fun in the sun

This is where they are every chance they get. The swings over the trampoline are fun in so many ways.

Check it out....

At wrestling practice on Thursday, they had a special guest coach. His name is Anthony Robles, he is 20, and wrestling at ASU. He went to Mesa High, and was wrestling the same time as Kevin. He was born with only one leg. He took 2 High School State Championships, and 1 National High School Championship. He is currently ranked 10th in the nation in Freestyle, and is expected to make All American this year. He came and talked to the kids and showed them some of his favorite moves, and then jumped in and helped coach them through the moves. He was only able to actually work with a couple of pairs of kids, but Jon was one of them! It was pretty cool.

Gone Camping....

Lenard went on his first Deacon's quorum campout this weekend. Apparently it is the first of many....I am told they go camping about once a month?? LUCKIES! :o) He got a new 20° mummy bag since he is going to be needing it! He was really excited to go...even though he knew they were going on a 5 mile hike today. I hope he is still excited when he gets home!
Getting him packed up made me look forward to the summer and camping at Greens Peak or ????wherever!! Lets start making plans!!

"Up on the roof" or "Let it rain..."

We decided that while we had some manpower in town, we would tackle the roofing job that has needed to be done for years. Thanks to all the guys, Todd, Jaba, Stevo and Donald, who pitched in and helped to make it happen. We really do appreciate it. Now I cannot wait for it to rain so I can sleep right through it. By the way, Todd, did you ever really get all the tar off of your body? ;)

And the finishing touches. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. You guys rock and "roll".

Whay do kids love animals so much?

We got to feed the goats. The kids just couldn't get enough of them.

Brody, he will miss the animals around here more than he will miss us, I think!

Zayah just loved it all.

Chilly Willy on Silly!
As the Gustins were heading out of town yesterday they wanted to do a letter box. Our family has never done one before so we decided to tag along. It was a perfect little hike for the kids (not to long) and the weather was great. Silly Mountain is the small mountain on the left side of US 60 just before you get to Gold Canyon. The stamp was a a picture of a penguin named Willy in an igloo. The Gustins left for home right after.
WE WILL MISS YOU!!!

Superstition Farm

The group Paying close attention to the farmer.

This baby was 6 hours old but we were able to see a baby like 5 minuets after it was born.

More fun with the Gustins! We went to Superstition farm where they milk cows. It was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about cows and what they eat and how big their stomach's are and how they are born and all kinds of fun stuff. We went on a hay ride and got to taste the milk bar. The kids also got to feed the goats and horses and hold the chickens and pet the bunnies. It really was a fun day!

Amazing Jakes

On Tuesdays Amazing Jake's has, family discount wristband day. We were sitting around wondering what to do, someone said Amazing Jake's and that's what we did. It was so fun to watch the kids have so much fun. By the end of the day we were all so tired! We have had so much fun having the Gustin's here. We hope they have had a nice vacation. We will miss you so much!!! We hope to make it to MV in September!

50 Nifty United States.....

Last Friday, the all the 4th grade classes at Jon's school put on a Patriotic presentation for the parents. It was obvious that they had worked very hard on the songs and speaking parts. I was so happy that I was able to go and see it. Here is just a tast of the program, but the whole thing was GREAT!!

Visiting Great Grandpa Daly

As you all know Grandpa has been in the hospital. We took the kids to see him the other day. Grandma was there too. It was fun to see them interact with the kids and the smiles that it brought to their faces. We love you Grandma and Grandpa. Isaiah and Halia both were a little unsure about the visit but the adults had a great time =)

More than just a little trim....

It was bound to happen sooner or later.....Sadie's hair has always been long and all one length, she basically started growing it out when she was 8 months old . She has always enjoyed it (and so have I)....until recently. Shortly after she started kindergarten, she started telling me she wanted it cut "to her shoulders", and asking for a haircut. I tried to discourage it, but then one day a couple of weeks ago she took it upon herself and cut herself some bangs!! It was not as bad as it could have been....she really didnt cut that much, it was just a bit short. So after thinking on it for a bit I decided to let her have her haircut....it is just hair after all. SO yesterday was the day, and she LOVES it. She swings her head and flips her hair and cannot stop looking in the mirror and smiling. It is, of course, absolutely DARLING (we are still talkng about SADIE, lol)....but it will take some getting used to....(and I want the bangs to grow out just a bit). :o)
