On Saturday we did something we have never done before...we cut our own Christmas Tree. We bought a permit for $5 and we went to this totally beautiful spot (did you notice the rainbow over the lake). We spent the day, the kids loved playing in the little bit of snow that there was. We got to drive up a fun mountain road. And we had our pick of any tree under 15 feet in the forest. It was such a blast. This will have to become tradition to us. Of course, now that we are home the tree isn't a perfect shaped tree with branches in all the right spots, but our house smells sooo good and we like that it is "unique". :)

I totaly wanted to do that with my little family! I wanted to go get a tree and some cedar wood for our fire pit! That is so awesome! That would be a great tradition! That's funny that the tree is missing some branches, but the aroma and essence of that tree will enlighten the Christmas spirit even more! Love you all!

I think we need to see a picture of the tree in the house. Don't talk about the aroma. That is what I miss most about hving a real tree. But a fresh cut tree is so awesome. If we buy a tree from a lot down here, it was cut up there like 3 months ago. So until we cut our own, we will stick with the "faux" tree. :)

Every year we've cut our own tree it is seriously the ugliest thing ever, but the kids LOVE it! You guys are the cutest family...maybe someday we can cut our trees together?! Miss you!
