What started out as a camping trip to Roosevelt Lake ended up being a nice outing at Apache Lake. I had never been to Apache Lake before so it was a real treat. The water was perfect and we all had a great time. Yes, even the dogs. Roosevelt is higher than it ever has been so the shoreline is all different. The place at Cholla Bay is about 20 feet under water. There are no "beaches" at that lake anymore. It is beautiful and the campgrounds that used to be a mile from the water are now right on the water but the shore is full of saguaro cacti and trees that are half submerged and they are very steep. Not conducive for playing or docking a boat.
We stayed at the Burnt Corral recreation site. We saw this beautiful Cardinal right in our camp. Isaiah loved to wade in the water and play in the sand. We came home via the old Apache Trail. I had never been there before and it was awesome. Now I know where the Reevis Ranch Trail head is. We got home and Rob realized that the tether strap that holds the boat on the trailer had broken sometime on the way home. He said it happened early on the way home. He felt something happen even before Fish Creek Hill. We feel very blessed to have made it home safely.
Shannon took this video of me water skiing. It is so fun to be able to do it again. We missed all of you who weren't here. We know there will be lots of fun times with you all to look forward to.
