Letterboxing...Moore Style

Okay...we tried letterboxing, too, but it didn't quite turn out like the Gustin's activity. We went to the park and it was an overcast day. Perfect, we thought, it won't be hot. We found the first tree that the clue indicated. Nothing there. We were getting EATEN by mosquitoes, but Brooklyn did not want to quit yet. We found the next spot. Nothing there. It was fun finding the spots, but would have been lots more exciting if there was a letterbox there! It started to sprinkle. The trees were a good canopy and we weren't really getting wet, and the mosquitoes were gone. Let's try one more....We found the next spot...nothing again. It started to rain harder and a tree fell not too far from us. That scared Brooklyn just enough to have her call it quits. We started down the trail. It started raining harder. Then it started HAILING. The water was pouring down the mountain (hill) faster than we could run, which made the trail really slippery and bigger-than-pea-size-hail was stinging our arms and faces. James was carrying Steven (that's the one picture I had to stop to take...James had Steven's head and eyes covered as he was running to protect him from the hail and he stuck his tongue out to try to catch some in his mouth! Cute. Those big white circles in the pic are the hail.), and the girls were going as fast as they could. We made it back to the car, but we were SOAKED and it was still coming down. Wow....not quite the experience we were hoping for, but it made for a good memory. We will have to try again!
