Is the Easter Bunny real?

Brooklyn is figuring things out a little early. She was watching How It's Made with James the other night (she LOVES that show) and they were making chimneys. She watched for a while and then said, "Dad, Is Santa Clause real?" (She was really thinking about how he could possibly get down that chimney!) James tried to put it off, but she wouldn't let him, so he had to tell her the truth. Then she said, "I guess the Easter Bunny isn't real either." One of the other Mom's at preschool yesterday came up to me and told me she was sitting at a table with Brooklyn and a few other girls. One of the girls asked, "Is the Easter Bunny real?" The mom didn't know what to say, so she just said, "Of course." The girl turned to Brooklyn and said, "I guess your Mom is wrong after all." When we got in the car after preschool, Brooklyn asked again, "Is the Easter Bunny real?" I told her it wasn't and she got the biggest grin on her face and said, "I knew you were right!" Today, after opening getting their Easter Baskets and finding the eggs the Easter Bunny had hidden, she said,"Did you hide the eggs or did the Easter Bunny?" I said, "What do you think?" She said, "The Easter Bunny." Well, I guess she wants to believe. We will let her as long as we can.
